Trauma Therapy

We know life can be quite challenging after experiencing trauma. From relationships to work to simple daily tasks, trauma symptoms can impact all areas of life. At Mixed Emotions, our therapists are here to support you in your trauma recovery so that you do not have to do so alone. We meet you where you are, facilitate trauma processing, teach you tools to manage your symptoms, and help you garner self-compassion.

Our view on trauma recovery: After you experience acute or complex trauma, your nervous system can begin to act in overdrive. This triggers your fight-flight-freeze-fawn response in situations that aren't necessarily dangerous. Your body is acting to keep you safe but becomes overstimulated. This leads to troublesome symptoms that can impact specific or all aspects of life. Our therapists help you connect somatically and via self-compassion to help you increase emotional regulation and the ability to function normally in your day to day life.

Our trauma therapy modalities: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment-Based Therapy, Intersectional Feminist Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Brainspotting
